A Group 1 winner in his native Argentina, Catcho En Die ran second in an allowance race at Gulfstream Park in December 2017 in his North American debut.

The dark bay or brown gelding disappointed in his 2018 bow when he faded to finish ninth in the Grade 3 Fair Grounds Handicap. Claimed for $40,000 by Naipaul Chatterpaul out of a win in his next race, Catcho En Die subsequently finished fifth in the Grade 1 Man o' War Stakes and 10th, but beaten by only 2 1/2 lengths, in the Grade 1 Manhattan Stakes, both at Belmont Park. He earned his first stakes victory in the U.S. in his fifth start in 2018 when he held off fast-closing Canessar to win the Grade 3 Stars and Stripes Stakes at Arlington Park on July 7.
