Competing primarily in the Midwest and South, Bullards Alley picked up his first stakes win in a listed event at Fair Grounds in December 2015. In May 2016, the Flower Alley gelding won his first graded stakes at Churchill Downs, the Grade 3 Louisville Handicap.

Over the next year and a half, Bullards Alley continued to compete in graded stakes with regularity, finishing third twice and second once in Grade 3 events, along with several unplaced efforts. His runner-up finish was in the Grade 3 Singspiel Stakes at Woodbine in July 2017, where he lost by a neck and showed an affinity for Woodbine’s turf course.
Three starts later, trainer Tim Glyshaw shipped Bullards Alley back to Woodbine and he scored a career-defining win in the $800,000 Grade 1 Pattison Canadian International Stakes, his 35th career start. Sent off at odds of 42.95-1, Bullards Alley tracked the pace in fourth, shot past the leaders leaving the far turn, and drew off to an overpowering 10 ¾-length win under Eurico Da Silva.
