A maiden win in his second start, Bold Conquest jumped into the graded stakes end of the pool in his next start. While Bold Conquest didn't win the Grade 3 Iroquois in that start, he did come within a neck of getting that win by finishing second to Lucky Player by a neck. The colt finished off his 2-year-old season by finishing third in the Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland.
Bold Conquest stayed on the Kentucky Derby trail as a 3-year-old, finishing fourth in the Southwest, third in the Rebel Stakes, and fifth in the Arkansas Derby.
