After needing four tries to break her maiden, Birdatthewire then scored two consecutive victories. The bay filly finally broke through in late November 2014, tallying a smart 1 ½-length victory when closing from mid-pack at Churchill Downs. She then won the Grade 2 Forward Gal Stakes in her stakes debut to earn 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks.

Birdatthewire next finished a close second in the Davona Dale Stakes to earn 20 Oaks points and won the Gulfstream Park Oaks to garner another 100 points and head into the Kentucky Oaks as one of the top choices. In the Oaks the filly finished a respectable fifth of 14. She was given six months off and returned with fifth- and fourth-place finishes in graded stakes before she won the Grade 1 La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita in December 2015.

She finished second in the La Canada Stakes in her 4-year-old debut.

A daughter of Belmont Stakes winner Summer Bird, Birdatthewire twice went unsold when she went through the auction ring in 2013. The third time proved to be the charm as a final bid of $23,000 at Fasig-Tipton’s Kentucky Fall 2013 Yearling Sale was enough for her to change hands. Birdatthewire is out of the stakes-placed Wagon Limit mare My Limit.
