Bigger Picture

Bigger Picture struck for his first career stakes win on Nov. 12, 2016, when he prevailed in the Grade 3 Red Smith Handicap at Aqueduct. After an unplaced finish in the Claiming Crown Jewel Stakes in his final start of 2016, Bigger Picture returned in style in 2017 with a 1 1/4-length score in the Grade 3 John B. Connally Turf Cup Stakes.

After finishing fourth, beaten by only a half-length, in the Grade 2 Mac Diarmida Stakes and third in the Grade 2 Elkhorn Stakes in the spring, Bigger Picture regained his top for when he rallied boldly to prevail in the Grade 1 United Nations Stakes at Monmouth Park on July 1. He then finished second, beaten a neck, in the Grade 2 Bowling Green Stakes and third in the Grade 1 Sword Dancer Stakes, both at Saratoga.

Bigger Picture closed out 2017 with a 12^th-place finish in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf, but returned to the winner’s circle in his first start as a 7-year-old in 2018, taking the Grade 3 John B. Connolly Turf Cup Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on Jan. 28. He raced eight more times during the year, and reached his best form in the fall when he ran second, third, and then second by a neck in three consecutive turf graded stakes at Kentucky Downs, Keeneland, and Del Mar. The gelding then kicked off his 8-year-old season with a repeat score in the John B. Connolly Turf Cup Stakes on Jan. 27, 2019, drawing clear to win by 3 1/2 lengths. Two starts later, he closed from fifth to win the Grade 2 Dixiana Elkhorn Stakes by a half-length at Keeneland on April 20.
