Ben's Duchess broke her maiden in her second try and follwed that up with a pair of third-place stakes finishes. She then had a pair of wins and a third-place finish in allowance optional claiming events before a runner-up effort in the C.E.R.F Stakes set her up for her first graded stakes try in the Grade 3 L.A. Woman Stakes. She won that race impressively, defeating four other fillies or mares including multiple graded stakes winner Taris and giving her connections reason to consider the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.
