After running third in his career debut, Beach View won his second career start by 1 ¼ lengths in September 2016 on the turf at Parx Racing.
Following a short break from training, Beach View returned in a 1 ¼-mile allowance race on the grass at Santa Anita Park in February 2017 and finished second. Racing again in a 1 ¼-mile turf race in March 2017, Beach View prevailed by 1 ¼ lengths for his second win in his first four starts. He made his stakes debut on the dirt at Santa Anita and ran fourth, beaten by 2 ½ lengths in the Grade 3 Tokyo City Cup Stakes.

He rallied from off the pace to take a clear lead in early stretch on his way to a 4 ¾-length runaway victory. In addition to earning his first career stakes victory, Beach View also matched his career-best 112 Equibase Speed Figure in the win.
