Stay Lucky offers participants the opportunity to win great prizes by stringing together winners in Thoroughbred races. Unbroken streaks of five, seven, nine, 14, 17 and 20 reward the players with a prize or choice of prizes. Terms and conditions apply.

The object is simple: pick winners from North American graded stakes races that draw at least six entrants. Races will be scored in real time but streaks will be updated only once daily to make sure they are scored in the correct order.

Pick as many races each weekend as you like, but be sure to play at least one race every weekend or your streak will be reset.

This weekend’s Stay Lucky slate is highlighted by the $1 million Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park and the $250,000 Jeff Ruby Steaks at Turfway Park, key prep races for the the 2020 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve.

Saturday, March 14

Azeri Stakes (5:50 p.m. ET): The top-five finishers from the Houston Ladies Classic Stakes Jan. 26 meet again in the Azeri, and the winner from that race, Lady Apple (#4) is 3-for-3 on the main track at Oaklawn. The race also drew 2019 Longines Kentucky Oaks winner Serengeti Empress (#5) and Grade 1 Cotillion Stakes winner Street Band (#1), second and third, respectively, in the Houston Ladies Classic in what looks like a competitive race. If I had a nice streak intact, I’d look for an easier spot, but I’m sitting on a goose egg so I’ll try Lady Apple.

Hurricane Bertie Stakes (5:52 p.m. ET): I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Lady Kate (#9) in two starts this year, both wins on this main track, and I love that she’s cutting back from a mile to seven furlongs. She should get a great stalking trip just in behind the speed.

Rebel Stakes (6:23 p.m. ET): I landed on a mild upset here in Three Technique (#6). He ran well for second behind a front-running winner on a muddy track in his season debut in the Smarty Jones Stakes, and I think he’ll improve in his second start off the layoff while getting a nice, stalking trip. He had a great workout Feb. 29, the fastest of 122 at the distance that day at Oaklawn Park, and I expect he’ll be a decent price with Hall of Fame trainers Bob Baffert and Steve Asmussen sending out the two most likely favorites.

Jeff Ruby Steaks (6:42 p.m. ET): Tough to look anywhere but Invader (#11) here after a smashing win on this synthetic main track in the John Battaglia Memorial Stakes Feb. 14. He’s 2-for-2 at Turfway Park and looks like a serious racehorse.

Beholder Mile Stakes (7 p.m. ET): Hard Not to Love (#1) looks to extend her winning streak to four as the clear standout in this race. She’s 5-for-6 on this main track and looking like a budding star when winning the Grade 2 Santa Monica Stakes Feb. 15 at Santa Anita.
