Richmond vs. Duquesne, tipoff 7 p.m. ET
Best Bet: Took a beat last week on my best bet (3-2 +$250 on the month). Time to get back on track. Let’s go to Pittsburgh, Pa., for this week’s best bet. Richmond is probably the best team you’ve never heard of… and they HAVE to win this game to stand a chance to get into the Big Dance. There’s a good chance they make it to the A-10 tourney finals against Dayton. I loss here would not be good for a non-power conference that does not get as many at large bids. Simply put, Richmond has the best D in the A-10 and third best O. Duquesne has a hard time scoring, so it sounds like a recipe for success to me. It is the last home game for Duquesne; however, Richmond is just that much better. I expect this game to open up as Richmond laying a point or two, but it could quickly move to three or four. Lets go $275 to make $250 and get the month’s total at +$500.

Wyoming vs. Utah St., tipoff 11:30 p.m. ET
Wyoming pulled a shocker and beat Nevada in the Mountain West tournament, and Nevada is the second best team in that conference. Wyoming won nine games all year including two in the tourney. Utah St., on the other hand, has won 24 games. Wyoming cannot score (especially after back to back heater games), Utah St. defends, and defense travels in tournament play. Lay 15 points with Utah St. and don’t even try to find the game on TV.
Valparaiso vs. Loyola Chicago, tipoff 7 p.m. ET
My man Porter Moser and Sister Jean (if you follow college hoops, this should make your heart warm with reminiscing)… Simply put, Loyola will shut down Valpo again as they have the best D in the conference and Valpo cannot score. Cameron Krutwig is going to go HAM on this smaller team. Loyola only won by two last time these squads faced off, but Valpo put up 25 points in the last portion of the second half. I’m okay laying six or so.
Best of luck in the Big Dance to everyone… Signing off.
For this series, I will keep it simple and focus on the original wager: the WIN bet. Looking at one horse per day for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Last week’s results:
Friday: Restless Rambler was fifth.
Saturday: Principe Carlo won.
Sunday: Guitar Slim won.
$10 Win Bets on each runner.

Santa Anita Park, Race 7, post time 7:08 p.m. ET
#3 Tig Tog: In her most recent start, she settled towards the back and then made a good move to win going away by over three lengths vs. a few of these same rivals. Two starts ago she was close to the pace early on and did not fire her best effort. I think her connections figured out that she likes to close from the back of the pack.
Saturday, March 7
#2 Honor A. P.: In his last start back in October, he stretched out to a mile, grabbed the lead and never looked back. He has displayed good talent in both of his starts and it looks like we haven’t seen the best of him yet. He gets tested for class here but his price should be solid given the competition he’s facing.
Sunday, March 8
Fair Grounds, Race 1, 1:30 p.m. ET
#3 Runaway Wind: We played him last time out when he tired over the sloppy surface. He was claimed by a high percentage barn and now adds blinkers while returning at the same claiming price. I like his speed and he should be able to make the lead vs. this group.
Current totals (counting this week, with results pending):
Total Wagered: $150
Total Returned: $81
