Stay Lucky offers participants the opportunity to win great prizes by stringing together winners in Thoroughbred races. Unbroken streaks of five, seven, nine, 14, 17 and 20 reward the players with a prize or choice of prizes. Terms and conditions apply.

The object is simple: pick winners from North American graded stakes races that draw at least six entrants. Races will be scored in real time but streaks will be updated only once daily to make sure they are scored in the correct order.

Pick as many races each weekend as you like, but be sure to play at least one race every weekend or your streak will be reset.

With the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series “Win and You’re In” races in the rearview mirror, the focus this week is on the fall meet at Keeneland, which hosts all four graded stakes races this weekend. With only three weeks left in the 2017 Stay Lucky season, time is running out to build your streak and try to win some great prizes.

Thursday, Oct. 19

Sycamore Stakes (4:57 p.m. EDT): This race drew 13 horses, five pegged between 3-1 and 8-1 on the morning line, and a few others with a solid shot to win. I landed on an improving Manitoulin (#13) from the barn of Jimmy Toner, but this is a very tough race for Stay Lucky players. I could easily see the stretch drive featuring six or seven horses battling to the finish line.

Friday, Oct. 20

Pin Oak Valley View Stakes (5:30 p.m. EDT): I wish I had a nice, worthy favorite to tab here, but again we have a full field (plus one also-eligible entrant) for a turf race at Keeneland that looks wide open. I’m torn between Journey Home (#9) and Dolce Lili (#10), but I give a slight nod to the latter.

Saturday, Oct. 21

Lexus Raven Run Stakes (5:30 p.m. EDT): This seven-eighths of a mile race drew a field of 11 3-year-old fillies, including three — Pinch Hit (#3), Tequilita (#7), and Miss Sunset (#11) — coming off of stakes victories. Chalon (#8) enters the Raven Run off a strong second against older females in the Grade 2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes, and she might be the fastest runner in here. But I landed on Tequilita, who is 3-for-4 at this distance. Her only defeat at seven-eighths of a mile came when she ran third in the Grade 1 Longines Test Stakes. Tequilita comes in off a victory in the Grade 3 Charles Town Oaks, so she’s in top form and racing at her ideal distance.

Sunday, Oct. 22

Rood & Riddle Dowager Stakes (4:57 p.m. EDT): There really are no “gimme” races this weekend. Any player who takes a streak intact into next week will have earned it. Like the other races, this one drew a deep field of 10 horses. I do like Apple Betty’s (#7) chances in the Dowager as she ran really well when second in this race a year ago. She’s a little inconsistent — and I do really like the improving Grateful (#10) —but the pickings are slim this weekend. If there is a horse you like a lot, regardless of odds, trust your instinct.
