When it comes to making money when handicapping races and betting on horse racing, it’s all about picking winners. Tordjman – DanonymousMan to those who follow him on Twitter – is one of the brightest young minds in the game.
Each Week, Tordjman will provide readers with his two best bets of the weekend and strategies for how to bet them. Tordjman will keep track of his return on investment (ROI) throughout the year and, as a bonus, he will also provide picks for a selection of the key races on the Triple Crown trail and the road to the Breeders’ Cup. Dan was able to manage a positive ROI for his plays in 2016. Come back every week and be sure to follow Tordjman on Twitter.

#4 Spartiatis: We’ll start off with a price this week. Spartiatis has been in against a lot tougher of late. When last seen at the allowance optional claiming level earlier this year, he won. The other positive here is that there is a bunch of speed signed up and, on his best day, Spartiatis is usually moving late.

#3 Time Test: We’ve been trying to beat the favorites the past few weeks and that hasn’t done much for us. Safe to expect that Time Test will be a well-backed favorite here and we’ll go ahead and back him. He’s run two bang-up races since shipping over from England for Juddmonte Farms. Trainer Chad Brown had him ready to fire in both the Fort Marcy and in the Manhattan. He was simply beaten by horses who ran peak performances in both races, but Time Test did have excuses last out when he was outfinished by Ascend. This is a multiple Group 2 and Group 3 winner in England – he’ll break through here.
