A Maryland-bred sired by graded stakes-winning sprinter Munnings, Pete's Play Call began his career in southern California in December of 2015.
As a 6-year-old, Pete's Play Call won his first stakes race on Dec. 21, 2019, winning the Bonapaw Stakes at Fair Grounds by 2 1/2 lengths. Ricardo Santana Jr. had the winning mount, for trainer Mike Maker.
A Maryland-bred sired by graded stakes-winning sprinter Munnings, Pete's Play Call began his career in southern California in December of 2015.
As a 6-year-old, Pete's Play Call won his first stakes race on Dec. 21, 2019, winning the Bonapaw Stakes at Fair Grounds by 2 1/2 lengths. Ricardo Santana Jr. had the winning mount, for trainer Mike Maker.
In his 7-year-old campaign, Pete's Play Call won four times from twelve races, while earning more than $190,000. In his 8-year-old debut, on Jan. 2 at Aqueduct, he won the Gravesend Stakes by 2 1/2 lengths. He won that race for trainer Rudy Rodriguez and jockey Jorge Vargas Jr. Four weeks later, he was a hard-fought second in the Grade 3 Toboggan Stakes at Aqueduct.
In his career, Pete's Play Call has won fourteen times at seven different tracks.
