Fluffy Socks

Fluffy Socks closed ground late in her Aug. 9, 2020, career debut at Saratoga Race Course, but she settled for fifth place in a field of seven. She made amends in her second start with a 1 ¾-length victory from off the pace in a Sept. 7 maiden special weight race at Kentucky Downs.

The Slumber filly made her stakes debut Oct. 3 at Pimlico in the Selima Stakes and surged clear to win by 2 ¼ lengths on yielding turf on the Preakness undercard. Next up was the Chelsey Flower Stakes Nov. 1 at Belmont Park, and Fluffy Socks opened a clear lead in early stretch but gave way late on soft turf while finishing second by a nose. Trainer Chad Brown shipped Fluffy Socks to Del Mar for the Grade 3 Jimmy Durante Stakes and the dark bay or brown War Front filly rallied from near the back of the pack for an eye-catching victory.

Fluffy Socks earned her first victory of her 3-year-old season on Oct. 16, 2021, when she won the Grade 2 Sands Point Stakes at Belmont Park. She made a four-wide moved entering the stretch and surged in the last few strides to win by a neck.  Fluffy Socks closed out her 3-year-old season with a third-place finish in the Grade 1 American Oaks Stakes Dec. 26 at Santa Anita Park.

She raced six times as a 4-year-old in 2022 without a victory to show for it. Fluffy Socks did finish second four times, including three times in graded stakes in which she was beaten by only half a length.

Fluffy Socks halted a seven-race winless stretch May 6, 2023, on the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve undercard when she rallied to a one-length win in the Longines Churchill Distaff Turf Mile Stakes.
