This year's Santa Anita Handicap will provide an even bigger dose of excitement than usual on March 8 when the top two finishers of last year's Breeders' Cup Classic make their way back to Santa Anita Park for a rematch.

The race marks only the third time in the history of the Breeders' Cup that the top two finishers of the previous year's Breeders' Cup Classic have faced each other the following year in the Santa Anita Handicap.

Defending Breeders' Cup Classic champion Mucho Macho Man is returning to the site of his greatest race while last year's Champion 3-year-old male, Will Take Charge, is looking to avenge his second place finish in the Classic. Mucho Macho Man has already shipped to California to finish his preparations after his brilliant performance in the Sunshine Millions Classic earlier this year while Will Take Charge is training for the 'Big Cap at Oaklawn Park.

Mucho Macho Man has shown a love for the Santa Anita dirt surface, winning two of his three starts on the track. His lone loss over the track came in the 2012 Breeders' Cup Classic, a race he lost by only 1/2 length to Fort Larned. He will again be paired with Gary Stevens, a match that has seemed golden thus far as the pair are undefeated together.

Will Take Charge has only raced over the Santa Anita dirt once in his career, that race coming in the Breeders' Cup Classic. The 4-year-old colt finished a strong second in the Donn Handicap on Feb. 9. Mucho Macho Man isn't the only horse he's having a rematch with in the Santa Anita Handicap, as he beat fellow 'Big Cap entry Game On Dude in the Clark Handicap following his defeat in the Classic.

The Santa Anita Handicap will air on Fox Sports1 at 7 p.m. E.T./ 4 p.m. P.T. on March 8. Click here to see why you should watch one of the biggest races of the year.
