After a seven year retirement, jockey Gary Stevens made the decision to return to the saddle in 2013. The season turned into a perfect Hollywood story when he annexed three of the biggest races of the year by winning the Preakness on Oxbow, the Breeders' Cup Distaff on Beholder, and the Breeders' Cup Classic on Mucho Macho Man in addition to 14 other graded stakes races. Stevens won over 65 races this year while riding under 400 mounts and has put himself in consideration for the 2013 Eclipse outstanding jockey award. According to Stevens, his return isn't a short-term deal as he will be riding again in 2014.
