2011 Kentucky Derby winner and Eclipse Award winning Champion three-year-old Animal Kingdom galloped a mile and a half at Fair Hill in preperation for his comeback this fall,  According to Team Valor CEO Barry Irwin.

A plan is in place, but specifics will not be revealed until the colt is certain to make a race. He is probably two weeks away from his first breeze.

Sired by Brazilian-bred Leroidesanimaux, Animal Kingdom originally injured his left hind leg after the 2011 Belmont Stakes, which required surgery. He missed the remainder of the 2011 season and was pointed towards the 2012 Dubai World Cup this past March before withdrawing due to complications with the same leg.
