The Triple Crown is not only memorable for racing but also for the fun fashion that accompanies it! Let’s take a look at the three races and how style plays a different role in each of them. 

Kentucky Derby fashion is like seeing the first sign of spring. People wait all winter for the Triple Crown to begin, so they tend to go big and bright for the first Saturday in May! Derby day fashion is full of large hats for the ladies and vibrant color schemes on gents. Fillies run the day before, Kentucky Oaks day when Churchill Downs recognizes survivors and those affected by breast and ovarian cancers. Most attendees choose to honor the female horses and cancer survivors by wearing pink. On Derby day, get ready to see people dressed to the nines from men in fedoras and bow ties to fantastic fascinators and dresses. As the race is the run for the roses, many like to incorporate the flowers into their outfit choices as well!

The second leg of the Triple Crown, the Preakness Stakes, is unique when it comes to style. The race held at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore is also referred to as the run for the Black-Eyed Susans, the state flower of Maryland. Yellow and black are also in the state flag of Maryland, which is reflected in all of the Preakness's overall design and decor. You'll see lots of these colors throughout the clubhouse of Pimlico, although inside the infield, track goers tend to be much more casual as they watch the races during the two-day infield music festival. Many trade in their dressier attire and take to the party scene that Preakness is known for and take a more relaxed feel to this race.

Ah, the Belmont Stakes. The grand finale. The last jewel of the Triple Crown ... the moment we all have been waiting the last 37 years for. This race day calls for simplicity and elegance, so you want to go out of the gate in style, and what color scheme exudes that more than black and white?
