Saturday's Grade 1 $300,000 Del Mar Debutante Stakes will be quite the exciting race as nine talented 2-year-old fillies will take to Del Mar's Polytrack going 7 furlongs. Though only two fillies have run in stakes races prior to this event, the field is full of maiden success. Lets take a look at some of these contenders and see how we can make some money on a budget!

By far the most experienced (and well-traveled) filly in the field is Sunset Glow (#5) who has been racing steadily since May. She is coming off an impressive win in the Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes on August 6 at Del Mar and also came in second to Cursory Glance in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot in England in June. With Victor Espinoza taking the mount again, there is no doubt that she will be a front runner. I'm looking forward to see how she fares running the longest distance of her career.

Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer has entered two fillies in Saturday's race. Seduire (1) has won two out of her three starts, most recently taking home the win in the 6-furlong Wine Country Stakes at Santa Rosa on August 8; and Manahtta (2), who broke her maiden at Del Mar on August 10 while defeating Del Mar Debutante contenders Windy Forecast (9) and Dad's Princess (4). Both Hollendorfer fillies show great promise in terms of speed, and I think they will be ready to challenge Sunset Glow.

With this field, anything can happen! Here's how I would bet the Del Mar Debutante on a $20 Budget. Good luck!

Scenario A: $3 Exacta 1,5 with 1,2,4,6 = $18

Scenario B: $10 Win-Show on # 1  = $20

Scenario C: $4 Trifecta 1,5 with 2,6 with 4 = $16
