Gatewood Bell is the president of Cromwell Bloodstock Agency and is a lifelong fan of horse racing. His clients include Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker, who with Bell has enjoyed success at the highest levels of the game with horses such as Gypsy Robin, a multiple Grade 2 stakes winner at Keeneland.

How and when I was introduced to Thoroughbred racing: Grew up on my grandparents’ Jonabell Farm and was bitten by the bug at a very young age. Watching Holy Bull took my obsession to the next level.
My favorite racetrack: Keeneland – easy question.
My favorite Thoroughbred racing event: Royal Ascot – may be the best sporting event, let alone racing event. I hope to never miss it again.

What I would like to see more of in Thoroughbred racing: Cooperation
What I would like to see less of in Thoroughbred racing: Bad racing on big days (or weekends).

First Thoroughbred track I ever attended was: Keeneland
Favorite All-time Thoroughbred: Colt – Holy Bull; filly – Gypsy Robin
My personal best moment in the sport of Thoroughbred racing: Gypsy Robin’s Beaumont Stakes and Raven Run wins at Keeneland with all of my family there. A Derby win wouldn’t top those two days.
Best racetrack food can be found at: The Shake Shack at Saratoga
My favorite jockey: Too many. I like any that give 100%.
My favorite trainer: Kiaran McLaughlin and Wesley Ward have easily helped me out and taught me the most.
