Out of the Gate with ... Eric, Adam and Randy Stanco
Brothers Eric, Adam and Randy Stanco (pictured at left with Randy’s son Cameron) are part of their family’s ownership group King of Prussia Stable. King of Prussia Stable achieved remarkable success in 2013 with homebred Princess of Sylmar, who won the Kentucky Oaks, Coaching Club American Oaks and Alabama Stakes to stake her claim as one of the top 3-year-old fillies in the U.S. She solidified that status and placed herself among the top females in training by defeating two-time Eclipse Award winner Royal Delta in the 2013 Beldame Invitational Stakes.

What I do for a living: Adam: TV producer with Pac-12 Networks
Eric: Executive recruiter
Randy: Reinsurance broker
How and when I was introduced to Thoroughbred Racing: Adam: My dad started taking me to Saratoga when I was about 6 years old. My dad took on all my losses and when I finally won, I couldn’t understand why he didn’t give me the cash.
Eric: My dad took me since I was 5 years old.
Randy: My dad took me to the track for as long as I can remember. We spent a lot of weekend days at Delaware Park, which was our local track, [and we] used to go to Belmont for the big races and spent a lot of August days at Saratoga.
My favorite racetrack: Adam: Saratoga
My favorite Thoroughbred racing event: Adam: Kentucky Oaks
Eric: Travers because it's great to see who the best 3-year-old boy really is after going through the Triple Crown gauntlet and an early campaign.
Randy: Any day at Saratoga. It used to be super Saturday at Belmont until they tried to spread out the stakes over multiple days.

Randy: All Syracuse and Philadelphia teams
What I would like to see more of in Thoroughbred racing: Adam: Smarter marketing
Eric: Stakes races at a mile and a quarter and longer, system to funnel top horses to compete in big races, official point system/standings/rankings for the casual sports fan to follow and recognize the top horses as household names.
Randy: More races between the top horses at various tracks
What I would like to see less of in Thoroughbred racing: Adam: The Breeders’ Cup in California
Eric: Jockey injuries, track biases, handicapped weights
Randy: Early retirement of the best horses
Three words that define what Thoroughbred racing means to me: Adam: Memories, family, history

Favorite all-time Thoroughbred: Adam: Princess of Sylmar, Capeside Lady, Holy Bull
Eric: Princess of Sylmar. ... After that, I would have to say Xtra Heat. I will always remember watching her race live against the boys in the 2001 Breeders' Cup Sprint.
Randy: All the ones we've been fortunate to own, especially Princess of Sylmar. Other than the ones we've had, my favorite is easily Holy Bull.
My personal best moment in the sport of Thoroughbred racing: Adam: Princess of Sylmar winning the Kentucky Oaks
Eric: Winning the Kentucky Oaks
Randy: Up until 2013 it was hitting a 99-to-1 shot at Saratoga when I was around 10 years old. That win had me hooked for life. Everything that has happened with Princess of Sylmar in 2013 easily surpasses that for the best moments.
