A 2008 inductee into the Racing Hall of Fame, Carl Nafzger is best known as the trainer of 1990 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Unbridled and 2007 Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense.

A Texas native who spent several years riding successfully on the national rodeo circuit, Nafzger took out his trainer's license in 1968. He won the Eclipse Award in 1990 and trained three champions: Unbridled (1990 three-year-old male), Banshee Breeze (1998 three-year-old filly), and Street Sense (2006 two-year-old male).
