Leah Gyarmati grew up in Queens, N.Y., where she took a job galloping horses for Hall of Fame trainer Allen Jerkens after high school. She later obtained a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in theology, but found herself drawn back to the track.
After a brief stint as a jockey Gyarmati began training in 1999. She has since accumulated purse earnings over $9 million. Gyarmati trains Noble Moon on the 2014 Kentucky Derby trail as well as 2014 Kentucky Oaks hopeful Sweet Reason.
