Owner Rick Porter of Wilmington, Delaware, bought his first horse as an owner in 1994. He has gone on to rack up 5 Eclipse finalists, one Breeders' Cup champion, and three Kentucky Derby favorites. Among the notables are Havre de Grace, Hard Spun, Eight Belles and Kodiak Kowboy.
Porter earned his first Breeders' Cup victory when Round Pond won the 2006 Breeders' Cup Distaff, now Ladies' Classic. Purchased by Porter for $105,000 as a yearling, on her retirement Round Pond was sold to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for $5.75 million at the 2007 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November sale.
Porter came close to another Breeders' Cup trophy in 2007 when Grade 1 winner Hard Spun was second to Horse of the Year Curlin in the Breeders' Cup Classic; earlier that year Hard Spun was second in the Kentucky Derby, third in the Preakness, and fourth in the Belmont.
In 2015, Songbird brought another Breeders' Cup home for Porter with a runaway victory in the Juvenile Fillies to seal up the 2-year-old championship.
A lifelong fan of racing, Rick attended Delaware Park with his family when he was younger, and offers his support to grow the fanbase.
For 2013, Normandy Invasion highlights Fox Hill Farms runners. Second behind Verrazano in the Wood Memorial (G1), the colt has earned himself a ticket to the Kentucky Derby, and is a Chad Brown trainee.
