Untapable had only one start when she entered the Grade 2 Pocahontas Stakes on Sept. 7, 2013. She paid off her connections' gamble by winning the race and earning the first 10 points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks.
The filly encountered trouble in her run in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies but rebounded to round out her season with a third-place finish in the Hollywood Starlet. As a 3-year-old she won the Rachel Alexandra and the Fair Grounds Oaks impressively to top the Oaks leaderboard.
Untapable rolled to a dominant victory in the 2014 Kentucky Oaks and also captured the 2014 Mother Goose. She then ran against males in the Haskell Invitational, finishing fifth as the favorite.
Untapable rebounded impressively in the Cotillion Stakes at Parx Racing on Sept. 20, holding off Sweet Reason for her third career Grade 1 win. She put an exclamation point on her season with a dominant performance in winning the Breeders' Cup Distaff.
The Distaff victory, which was her first start against older females, cemented the Eclipse Award as champion 3-year-old filly. She was a unanimous selection for the Eclipse Award, the first since Blame in the older male division in 2010.
Untapable began her 4-year-old season with a surprising defeat in the Grade 2 Azeri Stakes, finishing second to Gold Medal Dancer. She turned the tables on that rival in her next start, an easy victory in the Grade 1 Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn Park, but wound up second again in the Grade 1 Ogden Phipps Stakes on the Belmont Stakes undercard.
The daughter of Tapit is out of the graded stakes-winning Prized mare Fun House. Untapable is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes-winning millionaire and current stallion Paddy O'Prado.
