Sire: Street Sense
Dam: Livermore Leslie, by Mt. Livermore
Breeder: Brent Harris, Beth Harris, and Darley (Ky.)
Sweet Reason was an overachiever when she left Saratoga at the end of its 2013 meet. The filly had won her first two starts by a combined 12 lengths, including one of the top races of the meet. When she splashed home to a 5 3/4 length victory in the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes, she gave trainer Leah Gyarmati and owner Treadway Racing Stable their first Grade 1 wins and making herself one of the top 2-year-old fillies in the country. She headed to Belmont to capture second place in the Grade 1 Frizette Stakes.
Sweet Reason was bought by Treadway Racing for $185,000 at the Keeneland September yearling sale and the filly paid back their purchase price in her first two starts. Her sire [father] is Breeders' Cup Juvenile/Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense while her dam [mother] is stakes placed Livermore Leslie. Livermore Leslie is also the dam of Florida Oaks (G3) winnner Don't Forget Gil and comes from the family of Grade 2 winnner Timber Reserve.
