A $750,000 colt at the 2011 Saratoga Select Yearling Sale, Romansh didn't break his maiden until May of his 3-year-old year after two prior starts. He then ran into fellow Darley runner Transparent in the Curlin Stakes where he finished second to the well bred horse but due to a disqualification was placed first.
Romansh entered his first graded stakes race with steep competition in the Grade 1 Travers, finishing fifth. He completed the 2013 season with a victory in the Grade 3 Discovery Handicap, winning by an impressive 9 1/4 lengths.
By champion Bernardini, Roansh is by multiple stakes winner Cologny, whose siblings include stakes winners Selective and Keep It S. S. and Double Boarded, the dam of Twice the Appeal and Board Elligible.
