Bred: Darley (Ky.)
Sire: E Dubai
Dam: Relish The Thought, by Sadler’s Wells
Owned by Montanans Wade Jacobsen, Dennis Conner and Lloyd DeBruycker, My Gi Gi posted her first career stakes victory by nosing out heavy favorite Lady of Shamrock on the Hollywood Park turf in the Honeymoon Handicap (G2) in June. Jacobsen bought into the filly after an impressive win in her first start for original owner Richard Lynn, who named the filly after his wife. Other partners came and went and now the Montana trio are her only owners. Jacobsen is the majority owner of the E Dubai filly.
Although not a stakes winner as a 2-year-old in 2011, the filly impressed Jacobsen and trainer Brian Koriner enough to enter her in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G2), where she finished 12th after being slow out of the gate.
Peter Eurton took over training early in 2012 and has moved her into contention perhaps for another try in the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
