Bred: Fiona Craig and Dermot Cantillon (Ky.)

Sire: Medaglia d’Oro

Dam: Catnip, by Flying Paster

Micromanage made his debut at Saratoga with a five-length win. His next start was at Belmont Park for the Grade 1 Foxwoods Champagne Stakes, where he took fifth. The colt finished with a dissapointing 10th in the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes, but moved on to win an allowance race and the Long Branch Stakes at Monmouth Park.

The Megdalia d'Oro colt found himself in multiple other graded stakes races including the Haskell Invitational, where he finished third. He finished fourth in the Indiana Derby, third in the Grade 3 Discovery Stakes, and finished the season with a second place finish in the Time for a Change Stakes.

As a 4-year-old, Micromanage ran seventh in the Mineshaft before winning the Skip Away and finishing third in the Drosselmeyer.

Micromanage is a son of Medaglia d’Oro out of Catnip, a stakes-winning mare by Flying Paster. Micromanage was purchased as a yearling for $170,000 at the 2011 Keeneland September yearling sale. Micromanage is owned by Repole Stable and trained by Todd Pletcher – the same connections that campaigned the 2010 champion 2-year-old male Uncle Mo.
