Dam: Misskinta, by Desert Sun
Breeder: Mrs. Cherry Faeste (Ire.)
While Grandeur is considered a European invader, he has made his way to American so often in the last year that he may think of it as home. The gray or roan gelding spent two months in California in late 2012 where he won the Twilight Derby and Hollywood Turf Cup and came in second in the Hollywood Derby.
Grandeur has had success in his home country as well through the years, winning Handicaps at multiple tracks in England with regular jockey William Buick. He has been an extremely consistent horse, only missing the board a hand full of times during his 2 years on the track.
Heading into 2013, although he didn't present great luck in the Arlington Million, he finished first in the Weight For Age Stakes at Goodwood.
By Verglas, Grandeur is out of a half sister to graded stakes winner Far Cry and comes from the immediate female family of graded stakes winner Dress Rehearsal. With a page full of stakes horses, it is no surprise the gelding has had stakes success on the grass in multiple countries.
